OK. So just to divy away from Twit-Out for a second or two, even though, yes, I agree the concept is undeniably awesome and intriguing. Did you hear about Google Translate? They’ve gone ahead and added some updates to their language translation app. I had a chance to check out the new features earlier today before the official announcement, just because of my super ninja skills.

Google Translate added 10 new languages to the service including Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian and Swedish.

But what’s even more interesting is the snazzy new “Detect Language” option, which can easily differentiate between Japanese and Chinese. Something I’m not fully capable at doing myself.

So pretty much, you just throw your link of choice into the text field, click Detect Language from the scroll menu, and Google does the rest. So it actually saves you missed seconds from viewing your Hentai. You know, if you’re into that type of thing.

Having hosted a Finnish exchange student in 2003-2004, I’ve been looking for a good English to Finnish translation engine for years. I have no way to verify its accuracy (rather than translating English to Finnish back to English and seeing if the result is comprehensible), but I’m glad it’s available.
